Savage has expanded the AXIS II line to now include the 300 Blackout cartridge which provides ballistics that made the cartridge famous in a bolt-action platform built for hunters. The AXIS II is a light weight, compact rifle that optimises the performance from the 300 Blackout cartridge due to its 16 1/8-inch heavy barrel with threaded muzzle for use with a suppressor or muzzle brake. The rifle also features the AccuTrigger™, which allows the shooter to adjust trigger pull from 2.5 to 6 pounds. This rifle makes for a great backpacking rifle for those long hunting trips into the wilderness due to the light weight composite stock that weighs in at 6.62 lbs. This means you can carry the rifle for longer distances without feeling fatigued compared to some other heavy alternatives.
